POST SURGICAL CHECK-UP
The surgery site needs to be examined to make sure that the healing is progressing normally or uneventful. There are several unforeseen problems that can arise after any surgical procedure. If you suspect any problems with the normal course of healing, do not hesitate to call immediately. Some may require additional therapy or emergency medical attention. IMPORTANT:
IF YOU EXPERIENCE ANY SEVERE SWELLING, PROLONGED BLEEDING, SEVERE PROLONGED PAIN, HIGH FEVER, DIZZINESS, ALLERGIC TYPE REACTIONS, ETC. THAT CONCERN YOU, PLEASE CALL US IMMEDIATELY. IN THE EVENT YOU CANNOT REACH US OR WE DO NOT RETURN YOUR CALL WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME . GO TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM FOR IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION.
POSSIBLE POST SURGICAL PROBLEMS
1. ♦ DRY SOCKET This is sometimes a problem after surgery but rare to none at our office. The symptoms associated with dry socket are constant moderate to severe pain, bad taste, putrid odor, and poor clot formation at surgical site. Occurring 3-7 days following the procedure. IF YOU THINK YOU HAVE ANY OF THESE SYMPTOMS CALL OUR OFFICE IMMEDIATELY.
2. ♦ ALLERGIC REACTION Generalized rash, itching and etc.
3. ♦ FEVER Monitor your temperature for the first 24-48 hours. Any elevated temperature should be reported to our office.
4. ♦ SWELLING Some swelling during the first 24-48 hours can be expected.
TO INSURE RAPID HEALING AND TO AVOID COMPLICATIONS THAT COULD BE BOTH HARMFUL AND PAINFUL TO YOU, PLEASE FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY.
